Tennis --- Game, Set, Match!
Lakeridge is perfectly suited for the active, dedicated tennis player.
Three indoor courts at our West Lodge ensure year-round tennis and 16 outdoor courts round out our tennis package. Our recreation department organizes matches and tournaments year round.
Stables – Our Equestrian Treasure
One of the true treasures at Lakeridge is our stables, open year-round for equestrians who ride and may wish to board their horses. Pam Carlson, stable manager, makes sure that the riding experience is always wonderful. Reservations for riding or lessons are made by calling the stable at 860-489-9143. Children can enjoy escorted pony rides by reservation as well. Trail rides through the woods are spectacular, especially during fall foliage season.
Skiing—On Our Own Lakeridge Slopes
Where else, but at Lakeridge, can anyone have his or her own ski lifts and slopes, as well as a cozy lodge for relaxing? Lakeridge offers all of that and more with weekend and holiday skiing and our own snowmaking equipment. We even have our own ski patrol on duty to ensure safety and enforce skiing rules. Sorry, no St. Bernard rescue at this time. And, literally, for the “icing” on the cake, we have our own ice skating rink at the foot of the slopes. We also offer skating and snowboarding lessons.
Swimming
For resident swimmers and their families and guests, Lakeridge provides an indoor, Olympic size pool at our West Lodge and a similar size outdoor pool at our East Lodge. Ridge Pond, adjacent to our West Lodge, is a third swimming retreat. The privacy of adults-only swimming and water exercise, as well ample family swimming are available. Private and group lessons round out the Lakeridge swimming experience.
Boating
There is no place like Burr Pond for canoes, rowboats and paddleboats. Visualize those warm, late spring through summer days with gentle breezes or brisker winds, carrying the boats around the pond. With a reservation and a small hourly fee, one of these boats is generally available. |
