Lakebridge

Lakeridge is Lakeridge’s bridge club. Sanctioned by the ACBL (American Contract Bridge League), Lakebridge welcomes all bridge enthusiasts to its weekly duplicate bridge game, held year round on Friday evenings at the West Lodge. There are special evenings involving dinners sponsored by the club as well as tournaments. In addition there are plenty of opportunities for more informal bridge at the pools, or the lodges. Lakebridge has also sponsored instruction for people who wish to improve their skills through group classes and supervised play.

Dog Owners Group

Dogs, large and small, are much a part of the Lakeridge scene and enjoy long walks on leashes with their families here. When they need to run free the 50 x 100 foot dog run near the stable is the place to be. The Dog Club oversees the run making sure that dogs are safe and happy there together. The Club works with the Stable Committee on special events during the Spring, Summer, and Fall.

Short Story Group

Using anthologies of the greatest short stories, a group of readers meets on Saturday afternoons to share their takes on stories assigned the week before. All are welcome to join and opinions and interpretations run the gamut. Led by a well-read retired teacher this group is very popular.

Lakeridge Women’s Writing Group

In summer a motley crew of writers and those who wish to write meets each week on the terrace by Ridge Pond. Led by an English teacher at the Cheshire Academy, a published writer herself, the group writes poetry, prose, memoirs, and plays. At season’s end the women compile a book of their works and read some of them to the community at a pot-luck evening in the fall. – And, by the way, it could be a men’s and women’s group.

Seasonal Clubs

During the summer season, many groups meet including Mah Jongg , Poker, Gardening, etc. Whatever your interest, there’s bound to be others at Lakeridge who share in your passion.
